Fire Fan Fire Dancing Workshop

Course Overview

this is an intermediate class

This 4 week class is designed to get students started with fire fans, going from few skills to a fire dancing performance. The first week of class covers basic fire fan manipulation as well as basic move combinations. The second week of class we'll talk about fire safety information and continue to hone our skills by augmenting our move and combination repertoire. The third class we'll work on more choreography and we'll close the final week lighting the fans and performing the choreography presented the previous weeks.

For those who are comfortable, we will perform the piece in Union Square as part of the 2nd Annual Temple of Poi Fire Dancing Expo and we will hold an additional 5th session as a dress rehearsal on Sunday, April 22nd, at the Palace of Fine arts at 3 PM. Class sessions will meet at 6 PM on March 22, 29, April 5 and 12th for 80 minutes.
