Int. IIF: Behind the Waist Wrap

Course Overview

this is an intermediate class

This 4 week class teaches various intermediate moves which focus on behind the back and wall plane behind the back movements, including drills for:

  • behind the back over and underhand weave
  • wall plane behind the back weave
  • waist wrap butterfly
  • waist wrap behind the back weave
  • behind the back butterfly turn around
  • behind the back weave flower combinations
  • behind the back weave turn around

In addition, this class practices the following drills:

  • behind the back stalls
  • behind the back weave drills
  • split direction waist wrap drills
  • same direction waist wrap drills
  • 270 degree rotators
  • stacked circle turns

Finally, the series teaches combinations utilizing the moves students learn combined with other more fundamental moves. These combinations are customized based on the students current level of development.

To maximize the value of these classes, class size is small (6 or less) and each student receives individual focus from the instructors. Each of the classes meets for 80 minutes.

Prerequisite

Students must already know how to do the overhand and underhand weave and thread the needle, as well as pinwheels and hip reels in multiple directions. We highly recommend students have exposure to barrel rolls.
