Int. IIE: Split Direction

Course Overview

this is an intermediate class

This 4 week class focuses on more advanced split direction moves and transitions. The class focuses on expanding artists ability to move by utilizing complex split direction patterns and transitions, including:

  • split direction weave (4 patterns)
  • split direction concentric circle to thread the needle transitions
  • split direction buzzsaw-butterfly transitions and turns
  • split direction buzzsaw-pinwheel transitions and turns
  • split direction buzzsaw-hip reel transitions and turns
  • split direction stall combinations
  • same direction/split direction weave transitions
  • horizontal split direction buzzsaw drills
  • butterfly waist wrap drills
  • split direction flowers
  • split direction under leg movements

Finally, the series also offers practical combinations utilizing the moves, transitions and turns students learn combined with other moves. These combinations are customized based on the students skills and current level of development.

To maximize the value of these classes, class size is small (6 or less) and each student receives individual focus from the instructors. Each of the classes meets for 80 minutes.

Prerequisites

Students must already know the following moves:

  • buzzsaw in split direction
  • thread the needle over hand and underhand
  • stalls independently with both hands
  • inward and outward pinwheels and hip reels
