The total cost to build your rig will run approximately $55 including
tax. The list of parts should be around $12 - $15 and the
parts we will be providing (handles, wicking and swivels)
will run you $30 ($18 for the wicking, $10 for the handles,
$2 for the swivel hooks). Please be prepared to pay the $30
in cash for those parts the day we meet for this class:
Building the rig
Building the rig consists of these steps for both poi:
- folding the wicking in a cross weave
- screwing the bolt (with a washer on it) into the weave
- attaching the second washer
- putting on the nut
- tightening the nut as far as possible
- putting on the split washer and second nut
- cutting the bolt to size
- filing the edges of the cut bolt
- attaching the quick links, swivels, sized chain and handles
The details of this are discussed during the class itself.
