Fire Fan Performance
Course
Overview |
|
 |
This four week series teaches students a variety of fire fan techniques as well as developing fan performance skill. Students learn how to utilize dance elements
to make their performance interesting and begin exploring
their individual style while also practicing fan skills. This class also helps students through
their stage fright by allowing them a safe place to perform --
in front of other students learning with them.
Prerequisites
Students must have their own fire fans.
Course Overview
Each of the classes meets for 80 minutes, one time per week.
Class material covers:
- warm ups, practice, drills, review
- new move clinic, individual work, drills, practice
- individual improvisation performance and group feedback
- group improvisation performance and group feedback
Students should bring their own music to each class. Since fire fans typically burn in the 90 second to 2 minute range, bring music of that duration. Freestyling and choreography are both encouraged and welcome in each class.
At the end of the 4 weeks, beginners will feel comfortable performing from a skill perspective and anyone already trained with fire will be ready to hit the stage. Intermediate and Advanced Fan artists will find this course helps them develop more skill both in terms of technique as well as performance confidence.
Tuition
This 4 week class is $120. To reserve your spot, make a non-refundable deposit of $60 and bring the balance of $60 in cash the first night of class.
