CalTras Information:
On Saturday, June 3 the EASTBOUND portion of the Bay bridge
will be
closed from midnight to 11 am on Sunday. This means that if
you plan
to drive to the East Bay, you must get across the bridge before
midnight. If you have to take BART over after midnight, if you
let us
know 3 days in advance, we will arrange a shuttle to collect
you from
the Fruitvale station on the Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont routes.
Parking at the party:
THIS PARTY IS IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. We have loads
of room to
party down, but please be respectful of the neighborhood as
you come
and go and when you're in the outdoor space. There is good parking
here, but please carpool if you can. Park up the hill from Dimond
park
- it's an Oakland park and therefore has equal parts crime and
police
officers.
About the Havilah Project:
Two of us have had simultaneous dreams for years: to build
a tree and
a garden for Burning Man. This year we put our two dreams together
and, along with a bunch of other Illuminaughts, are building
the
Havilah Hope Garden. This garden, in keeping with the theme
this year
(Fear, Hope and the Future), is an installation of handmade
flowers
and a fire-blooming tree. The intent? In a time where our fears
about
the future feel all-too tangible, we want to bring a little
hope back
into our lives and share that hope with the Burning Man community.
We are building a website! Check out our progress at www.oacious.com/htm
