How do I sign up?
The computer based training for the Beginner Poi class offers
a comprehensive self study program for students everywhere.
Each lesson has a list of 5-12 moves. Within each of the moves
there are a variety of video clips -- sometimes over 40! --
taken from various angles and perspectives to help students
have a comprehensive view of how the to create the move. The
Beginner Class series is taught in a progressive sequence building
on the skills taught in previous lessons. This program allows
student to acquire a deep level of skill at a rapid pace because
of the systematic nature of the educational program.
While other sources for on line videos exist, The Temple of
Poi coursework is dramatically different. These videos are modeled
from our industry experience teaching full time over the last
2+ years. The structure offers a proven learning system that
has guided over 500 students to rapid success with their poi.
In addition to a text description, each move has multiple video
clips and audio instructions that pop up in their own display
window so students can easily toggle between perspectives to
quickly gain a deep understanding of the moves. Because each
clip is small, students have very granular access to the learning
material, allowing them to easily pinpoint and view the specific
portion of the move upon which they need to focus most.
Unlike some free sources for video clips, all the Temple of
Poi clips are well lit using high quality video that is then
converted to a smaller file appropriate for web streaming. These
clips are specifically designed to educate students rather than
to show off a move or artist, making it easy to understand what
is happening rather than forcing the viewer to figure it out
for themselves. The video clips include full body views as well
as close ups of the hand, views of each hand alone as well as
both hands together both with and without poi from mutliple
views.
In addition, the text and audio instructions provided make
it easy to follow the lesson plan in a logical sequence, building
on the material that has already been mastered. Each move also
has a section that explains the fundamentals of the move which
we call the "Move Physics" as well a section that
offers helpful hints and common problem analysis with additional

For Beginner classes, each class is $20 when bought individually.
If you are interested in the Beginner
Poi course, which is 6 classes, you can purchase all 6 classes
for $90. Intermediate moves are availalbe at a price of $10
a move.
