Artist Profile: Jaden Rose

Today’s artist profile features Jaden Rose from Solar Flare in San Temple of Poi Fire Dancing Expo 2010 Francisco, California. Jaden has always been a bit of pryo. She started making small twig bonfires on cold mornings while waiting for the elementary school bus. Born with a flare for the physical, she matured into a background of martial arts, belly dancing and yoga. She was introduced to fire dancing and performing in 2003 when she moved to San Francisco, California.

Temple of Poi Fire Dancing Expo 2010Since then she has been featured in over a hundred shows and festivals in California, Nevada, Oregon and Hawaii and several newspaper articles and television clips. Awing audiences from just a few to a few thousand people, some of her more publicized performances include Castro Halloween in San Francisco, California; Whole Earth Festival in Davis, California; In the Street Festival in San Francisco, California, The Crucible’s Fire Arts Festival and Hot Couture fashion show in Oakland, California; the Hawaii Electronic Music Festival in Hilo, Hawaii; and the Salem World Beat Festival in Salem, Oregon.  She has worked for fashion fundraisers like For Your Eyes Only at Rube Skye and Beats for Boobs at 111 Minna in San Francisco.

Jaden’s favorite part of performing is collaborating with follow dancers, musicians and producers. As co-founder of Los Suenos del Fuego, she organized and managed a large fire troupe for over three years. In high demand for her dedication and passion for partner and group choreography, she has danced with several other troupes including Bomtribe, Pyronauts, Sky Fire, and Pyrogyphlicks and collaborated with many solo artists. For the last few years, she has been highly involved with the fire troupe, Solar Flare, and currently acts as Assistant Shin for the 2010 Burning Man Fire Conclave.

Jaden Rose is talented at single and double staff, hoop & double hoop, poi, wands, fans, swords, contact fire and fire eating. She also offers her skills at production, event coordination and promotion. Her skills as a seamstress has evolved to creating costumes for a handle full of performers to organizing the costumes for an entire troupe with over 20 dancers. She also has provide hair and make-up support.
