So sad… My Rejected Etsy movie entry

Etsy.com had a contest going on for making a movie about handmade moments. GlitterGirl's Etsy.com Home Made Moments VideoMy entry was the video clip I put together featuring me making and then performing with a set of flag poi. They are so cute — white (UV reactive), sheer organza with silver holographic dots on them. I also happened to weight them really well so they just flew so nicely.

Anyway, because of the Etsy.com lawyers, this clip was rejected because you can see the banner in the background. So sad. . . Hope you enjoy it though!

Glass Cuts (Phillip Glass: Remixed)

I happened upon this album (Glass Cuts) quite by chance last night and I am loving it. Glass Cuts (Phillip Glass: Remixed)I particularly love Etude No. 1 (and not so much Etude No. 5) which is remixed by Androoval. It’s all got a nice groove to it and feels good to move to without being too upbeat. The sensual yet driving and somewhat broken beats are fun for flow play.

Overall, this album is a really interesting remix of some classical music so it has a sort of downbeat minimalist classical sensual lounge vibe, if you can imagine that. I really like the first 5 tracks a bit more than the rest of the tracks, but if you’re into IDM, you might appreciate the later tracks more than I do.

I will say most of the songs do have a build up and take a moment to journey into the heart of the music, so allow them to expand. That’s something I do enjoy, though it can throw you off if you’re not expecting it.

If you’re going to buy just tracks, I recommend “Another Look at Harmony,” “Piano Etude No. 2,” “Saxophone Concerto,” “Channels and Winds,” “Why Are We Here?” “Saxaphone Concert” “2nd Perception of Light, Moon, Mist & Rainbow,” and my personal favorite, “Etude No. 1.” Of course, that’s 8 of the 13 tracks so for the added $0.99 you can get the rest of the tracks too.

Highly recommended fun and interesting electronic music. Don’t be deceived by the Classical category on iTunes.
