As we continue with our artist profiles for the Temple of Poi 2009 Fire Dancing Expo & 7 Year Anniversary, we spotlight student performer, Michael Parker, who will be performing with Dark Side of the Rainbow and Supreme Beings of Fire.
Michael was inspired to learn firespinning at his first Burning Man in 2004 when he saw the Fire Conclave perform around the Man. On returning home he connected with the Bay Area fire community and started taking classes at Temple of Poi, and two years later performed in front of the Man himself. His favorite things about firespinning: picking up new moves and helping others learn them, meeting new friends, and being surrounded by pyromaniac women.
