Beginner Poi Lessons
Beginner
Poi Moves is designed for the novice poi spinner.
This course familiarizes students with 42 essential poi movements which can be thought of as the alphabet of poi. This 6 week course is designed for self taught beginners who don't know many moves and students who are complete beginners. A new series begins:
 Wednesdays, 8 PM, running 11.12, 11.19, 12.3, 12.10, 12.17 and 1.7.09 (main studio) (6 weeks: $180)
The Beginner Poi Dance class is for beginning artists who know the basic moves (the alphabet of poi) who want to connect these together with more ease. The Beginner Dance series is an excellent follow up to the Beginner Moves series and is also designed for self taught artists with a beginner repertoire (weaves, windmills/pinwheels and butterflys), teaching artists various transitions and combinations that utilize the basic patterns. This series also includes performance coaching and distinctions for beginning artists.
Tuesdays, 6:30 pm, running 12.2, 12.9, 12.16 and 1.6.09 (studio B) (4 weeks: $120)
Beginner Poi Fire teaches extensive fire safety and permitting information as well as how to build and maintain your fire poi. During the second half of the series students light up and fire safety for other performers in a supervised and safe environment.
Tuesdays, 8 pm, running 12.2, 12.9, 12.16 and 1.6.09 (studio B) (4 weeks: $120)

Intermediate Poi Lessons
If you're wanting to mix up your style with a fun new way of transitioning between moves, join us for the 4 week Transition Flair (Intermediate IID) class series. This course teaches artists how to move each poi at a different tempo to create more variation in your flow. This series is taught by GlitterGirl.
Mondays, 8 PM running 11.10, 11.17, 12.1, and 12.15 with GlitterGirl (main) $120 on its own or discounted as part of the Harvest Special
Are you just out of beginner classes and looking for a few quick additions to your repertoire? Check out our two weeks Intermediate Moves I class which focuses on buzzsaws, horizontal plane buzzsaws, reel combinations, thread the needle and more.

With the expansion of poi and flow arts beyond the fire, artists have been enjoying the use of technology in their tools and can be found spinning with LED based poi.
GlitterGirl has recently been enjoying a wonderful set of poi from her friends at FlowToys.
You can see these in action in this short performance clip from Prepare for the Playa in August of 2008.
