Temple of Poi's fire dance school teaches body movement techniques
to help artists dance using tools including poi, staff and
hoop. Temple
of Poi classes go beyond working with the fire
itself: our school teaches artists about the flow of the
tool with the body and the partnership between the artist
and tool.
As the premier poi fire dance school in the world, Temple of
Poi is committed to bringing flow and fire arts to the world through
accessible and systematic training offered at affordable prices.
Each Spring, we offer free introductory
classes as part of National Dance
Week's initiative to share the love of dance. In 2006, our
dance school sponsored the first free and legal fire dancing event
in North America, held in San Francisco's Union Square. Our dance
school annually produces the expo and is fiscally sponsored by
Temple of Poi, generous community donations and sales of the Temple
of Poi 2006 Fire Dancing Expo DVD.
Beyond the fire and the body movement, our fire dance school
works with artists to create an attitude built for success through
the Flowology Mindset™
and ongoing Flowology™
Coaching.
